Report on public meeting for LSEP

October 26th, 2016

The public meeting to present the engineering plans for the new LAKE SCUGOG ENHANCEMENT PROJECT was held on October 25.  For all the information about what was presented click on www.lakescugogenhancement.ca.

After you have looked at the plans and read all the benefits, we would appreciate comments on https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LakeScugogEnhancement.  This is a very simple and anonymous Survey Monkey site which allows additional comments as well. Please help us to help spread the word about this exciting project which is vital to the lake and the Township.

This water quality project will see 17 acres of Port Perry Bay dredged and a stormwater improvement area built to treat most of the unfiltered runoff from downtown Port Perry. It will also see the municipal boat launch dredged as well and include a new walking trail from Palmer Park Beach to Vos’ Independent.

This project’s economic, environmental, recreational and social benefits will be so many. The Scugog Lake Stewards have been pushing for this for years and we are pleased that the Township is spearheading it with Kawartha Conservation and ourselves. Keep checking in to our site and the Enhancement Project’s dedicated website and Facebook page.

Well, it still needs to be approved by Council and the Trent-Severn (although TSW has appoved of what we have been doing up until now!). Then we have to raise the funds, although we have 14% already. Good to hear from you Sandy. B
