Lake Scugog – permits and policies for in-water work

The lake Stewards have been asked to post how to apply for Lake Scugog -permits and policies for in-water work.  First you have to know that the Trent-Severn Waterway, which is part of Parks Canada controls what can be done in the water of Lake Scugog, whereas Kawartha Conservation www.kawarthaconservation.com controls what can be done to the shoreline and on the flood plain above the shoreline.  This is a simplification of what it used to be since Fisheries and Oceans Canada and the Ministry of Natural Resources officially gave over what used to be also their responsibility.

Since what you might be planning to do off your shoreline might be any number of things from putting in a dock to dredging, we will just give you a list of the table of contents of the site below.  It should be fully functional to give you the information you need.  We hope this is useful to you.
